Bank of America Reaches Epstein Settlement in Sex Trafficking Case
Bank of America settles Epstein lawsuit brought by victims in another major development tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s legacy.
The bank agreed to settle claims brought on behalf of Epstein’s victims.
However, the deal still needs court approval.
So far, no one has released the settlement amount.
Even so, the agreement marks another legal setback for a major bank.
Earlier, JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank reached their own Epstein-related settlements.
Now, Bank of America joins that growing list.
What the Lawsuit Claimed
A Florida woman filed the proposed class-action lawsuit last year.
She said Epstein abused her at least 100 times from 2011 to 2019.
She also said Epstein’s business team directed her to open two bank accounts.
Those accounts were held at Bank of America.
The lawsuit claimed the bank had many warning signs in front of it.
Still, the complaint said, the bank kept doing business as usual.
As a result, victims argued the bank chose profit over protection.
Why the Case Drew Attention
The lawsuit described troubling banking activity tied to the woman’s accounts.
It said Epstein’s team used those accounts in suspicious ways.
That detail added weight to the claims against the bank.
The complaint also pointed to Leon Black, the Apollo Global co-founder.
It said Black sent Epstein more than $150 million through a Bank of America account.
Those payments were reportedly for tax and estate planning advice.
Black has denied wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Bank of America Had Fought the Case
Before the settlement, Bank of America asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit.
The bank said it only provided routine banking services.
It also argued the complaint lacked real legal strength.
In fact, the bank called the claims meritless and threadbare.
However, both sides later told the court they reached a settlement in principle.
They now plan to return with more details soon.
Why This Settlement Matters
For many victims, this deal carries symbolic weight.
It does not erase the past.
Still, it adds another layer of accountability to institutions linked to Epstein.
A lawyer for the victims called it a step toward deserved justice.
That view will likely resonate with many people.
Bank of America settles Epstein lawsuit brought by victims, and the case now moves into its next legal phase.
